Well. the artistic/creative process continues...I've been writing up a storm, collaborating with a bunch of bloody talented people..some of the tunes will be appearing on my site soon, just working out the mixes...

As many of you know, there will soon be a new baby in my house and we have spent endless hours prepping for his impending arrival... so if any of you have any baby advice, i would sure be glad to hear it!!

Well, for thiose of you who thought it was about time that I got off my duff and went to Nashville...well.. I leave on the 28th of June for an extended weekend in Music City USA...

We have played the three shows scheduled in Shanghai/Suzhou and are leaving for Beijing at 7 am tomorrow for three more...

The MayDay shows were an incredible experience. Since most of the audience wasn't able to understand the lyrics, we relied on gestures and grooves and rhythm to get it across. They sang with us, we had some of the kids get on stage with us and it was a beautiful exaample of how music transcends language and cultural barriers.

As an added bonus, EMBER SWIFT was also in Shanghai and was able to hang out with us at the Shanghai show and travel to Suzhou for the others - lovely to see her (she is so great!!) in these surrounding!

The people here are really welcoming, the promoters and technical team great - the only things that I am having some trouble adjusting to is the cacophony of traffic horns and the choking pollution, both things that I would have a hard time adjusting to if I ever tried to live here..

But the music is great, the ROADHAMMERS are a fun bunch of guys to hang with and it's been tremendous to be here with Suz and Kim.

So here we are in downtown Shanghai - we're staying in a pretty nice hotel and I'm about to get ready to go to the venue...

It's a pretty interesting place and we're trying to learn as much Chinese as we can...

Actually, I thought that I would be feeling some big-time culture shock upon arriving here, but to tell the truth, It doesn't feel much different from other big cities - lotsa traffic, lotsa people and too many cars!

Gotta run, but I hope everyone is well at home - I hear the weather has finally turned to summer...

Hi everyone!

I got back from the ASCAP conference last nite and I am still quite blown away from the experience. Besides meeting some very talented songwriters from all over the world, I also connected with MARIA KIZIRIAN (www.mariakizirian.com), an Artist out of Finland/Sweden - I believe that she and I are going to try our hand at penning a song together!

Another wonderful development coming out of my ASCAP conference: I am planning a trip tp Nashville in early June, so if anybody has any friends in Nashville, please let me know!

IT'S AN INCREDIBLY EXCITING TIME HERE IN THE HARTE HOUSE! - VSH HAS BEEN INVITED TO TOUR IN CHINA. WE LEAVE ON THE 28TH AND IT PROMISES TO BE ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR BAND'S LONG HISTORY!

Hey all,

I just want to thank everyone who came out to Hugh's Room last weekend - it was a very special performance for us and I hope you all had a great time! I have posted a couple of pictures from the show at my site...

Looks like we will be playing at C'est What as part of the Songwriter Circle Series on February 20th, 2007.

Lastly, a tune from my upcoming EP entitled "Nothing Without You" has advanced to the next round of judging in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition. Over 14,000 songs were entered and I am tickled that I've made it this far- keep your fingers crossed for me! This is the same tune that was picked for a compilation for film originating in NYC, so I am hoping that it makes it to the semi-finals...
